Francis "Frank" Wank

Francis “Frank” Wank, 71, of Phoenix Park, passed away Thursday afternoon at his home.   

      Born in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Adam and Stephania Skavinsky Wank.

      Frank was a graduate of Minersville High School. He served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Phoenix Park Union Church. He was a manager at the former Kreig’s Lumber of Pottsville and more recently retired from IU 29 where he worked as a maintenance man. He was a member of the Phoenix Park Fire Co. and coached Little League.

      In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death in 2002 by his wife, the former Joyce Harris; 2 brothers Joseph “Spook” Wank and Stanley Wank and 2 sisters, Marie Pizzoli and Rita Wank. 

     He is survived by a daughter, Heather Carvajal and her husband Robert, Phoenix Park; a son Keith Wank and his wife Emily, Minersville; 4 grandchildren, Jacob, Ethan and Ephram Carvajal and Katie Wank; 2 brothers, Albert (Al) Wank, Llewellyn and John Wank, Phoenix Park; 2 sisters, Kathy Dawson, Mill Creek and Helen Honyara, Ephrata; nieces and nephews.

  Funeral Services will be held  at 10:30 AM Wednesday in the Phoenix Park Union Church. Rev. George Sommers will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Tuesday evening from 6 to 9PM.  Internment with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa.
