Lorraine A. Rhody, 76, of Minersville, fought a brave and courageous battle with cancer, she passed away at her home with family by her side and entered Heaven’s gates on August 4, 2018.
Born July 11, 1942 in Pottsville, PA, she was a daughter of the late John and Martha Shujdus Chimohosky.
Lorraine attended the former St. Stanislaus Grade School and was a graduate of Minersviile High School. She was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, MInersville and was a member of St. Matthew the Evangelist Church, Minersville.
A loving mother and homemaker, Lorraine was a remarkable cook who loved spending time with family and adored her 4 grandchildren. She loved going on family vacations to the Outer Banks, enjoyed camping at Camp-A-While with family and friends, playing cards and bingo. She was a dedicated sports fan and attended many NASCAR and Flyers Hockey games and enjoyed watching Seattle Seahawks football with her sons.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 2011 by her husband of 50 years, Robert Rhody Sr. She is survived by 3 sons, Robert Rhody Jr. and his wife Diane, Richard and his wife Heather, Scott and his wife Laurie; a daughter, Shelly Rhody; 4 grandchildren, Rick Rhody, Jade Rhody, Brittany Rhody and Desiree Smith; a sister Joan Hummel; 3 brothers, Norman Chimokosky, Jerry Chimokosky and John Chimahusky ; nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Monday, August 13, 2018 at 10:30 AM from the Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St., Minersville. Chaplain Rodney Weaver will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 8AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus #2 Cemetery, Minersville.
