Stanley J. Poslosky, 93, of Mechanicsburg and formerly of Minersville, passed away Wednesday evening at home surrounded by his family.
Born February 14, 1925 in Buck Run, PA, he is predeceased by his wife Alice who passed away on September 22, 2017, his parents, John and Anna Poslosky; brothers Joseph Slifka, Frank (Lefty) Slifka, and Thomas Poslosky and sisters Mary (Kraft) and Julie (Vinansky).
He attended Cass Township schools and was a World War II and Korean War Navy veteran.
Stan will be lovingly remembered by his children Carol, Bob, Diane (with whom he resided), Mark (Cathy), and Mary Jane (Greg) Malandrucco. Stan will be fondly remembered by his grandson, Sam Malandrucco, and by his sister, Anne Honyara, and his brother John(MaryAnn). He will also be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews and extended family (Tony, Gina and Angie), dear friends and caregivers.
Stan was a member of St Matthew the Evangelist Church (formerly St Stanislaus) He was a member of the Holy Name Society where he helped with many parish events and the annual polish picnic.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and favorite pets. He was an avid hiker and he enjoyed gardening, polka dancing and traveling with Alice.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 11:30 AM in St. Matthew the Evangelist Church, 139 Spruce St., Minersville. Rev. Leo J. Maletz will officiate. Relative and friends may call at the Church on Monday morning from 9:30AM until the time of the service. Interment with military honors will be in St. Stanislaus #2 Cemetery, Minersville.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Stan’s favorite charity that he supported most of his life, the Maryknoll Sisters at P.O. Box 317 Maryknoll, NY 10545 or do a random act of kindness in his memory.
