Bernice McCormick Obituary

Bernice Corrine Wolfmeyer McCormick passed into eternal life peacefully on Monday, March 4, 2024 at the Home of Her Daughter, Julie O'Connor surrounded by Family.

Born on January 10, 1925 daughter of late George W. & Elvira J (Cook) Wolfmeyer in St. LOUIS, MO. Baptized February 15, 1925 at Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, St. Louis, MO.

She attended school through the eighth grade; Loved singing in the choir & enjoyed playing softball; worked at the American Wine Compay, known for Cook's Imperial Champagne in St. Louis, MO. While visiting relatives in Kentucky she met the Love of her Life, after 2 dates they were married 3 Months later on November 27, 1943 in St. Louis before Dad left for Germany during WWII. After his return from the war they settled in Philadelphia PA, Dad’s Hometown for 60 years, devoting her life to her family.

Mom was a member of St. Gabriel’s Church, South Philadelphia; before moving to Minersville, PA where she is a member of Holy Family Church. Mom is a Proud Member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution for the past 3 years as she is a descendant of an American Revolution Patriot, Francois Marechal, who served at The Battle of St. Louis in 1780.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. in 2003. Brothers Charles, George, Edward, James, Kenneth, Anthony, Donald.

Her Sister Theresa McSherry.

Grandson Brian Laudeman

Many Sister & Brother-in-laws.

She is Survived by her Beloved Sister Elizabeth Hansen.

Lauren (Micah), Krista (Josh), Jimmy(Monica), Jennifer,

Michael(Lauren),Lenny (Amanda) & Patrick

Great Granchildren:

Michael (Alison), Corey (Bill), Albert Anthony, Eila, Quin, Rowan, Cali, Colt, Keira, Liam, Willow, Lily, Ethan, Emerson.

GREAT GREAT Grandchildren:

Vanessa, Tori, Beau

Mom attributed her longevity of 99 years young to always being surrounded by her Loving Family.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, March 8, 2024 from St. Michael the Archangel - Holy Family Parish, 538 Sunbury St, Minersville, PA 17954. Rev. Jason Stokes will be officiating. Friends may call from 11:00AM-12:30PM at the Donald J Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St, Minersville, PA 17954. 

 

Internment will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 9. 2024 in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Sproul Road, Springfield, PA.
