Carol A. Zuppert, 73, of Pottsville, passed away early Wednesday morning at the Orwigsburg Nursing and Rehab Center from Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS).
Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late John and Magdalene Harnadek Namiotkiewicz.
Carol was a graduate of Minersville Area High School and McCann School of Business. She was retired from Schuylkill IU 29, MarLin, where she worked as a secretary. Previously she had worked for UPS and Argo Knitting Mills. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Pottsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bob Zuppert in 2009.
She is survived by her two sons, Carmen Zuppert and his wife Paulette, Schuylkill Haven and Rob Zuppert and his wife Emily, McLean, Va; and 5 grandchildren, Sabrina, Madeline, Lillian, Pearce and Walter.
During retirement, Carol enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and watching Hallmark movies. She will be deeply missed during our family holiday dinners and beach vacations.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 AM at St. John The Baptist Church, Pottsville. Rev. Kevin J. Bobbin will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St. Minersville on Monday morning from 8 AM to 10 AM. Interment will be in St. John The Baptist Cemetery, Pottsville.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer remembrances of Carol be in the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, 712 South Keyser St., Taylor, Pa. 18517.
