Charles Keller Obituary

Charles L. Keller, 82, of Minersville, passed away Wednesday morning at the Meadows-York Terrace Nursing Home.

Born in Minersville, he was the son of the late Leo and Theresa Sericola Keller.

He attended the former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel grade school and was a 1954 graduate of Minersville High School. He worked as a custodian for the Minersville school district and also ran a clock repair shop in Minersville. He was a member of the former St, Barbara’s Church, Minersville and was a member of St. Matthew the Evangelist Church, Minersville. He was a member of the Flying Dutchman Ski Club and the Minersville Softball Association.

Charles and his sister Theresa were very close. They skied together for 40 years in the Pocanos. Every Sunday afternoon they went bike riding. He loved baseball and was almost signed with the Philadelphia Phillies. He was very proud that his sister became an RN. He drove her to Sacred Heart Nursing School for 3 years. She said that “Charles and I will Ski in heaven.  I’ll love you forever. Your suffering is over. Say hello to Mom and Dad” He was always ready to help anyone in need. He was very religious and never missed Sunday Mass. He loved Fr. Maletz’s visits. He also loved all the kids and staff at the Minersville Elementary school. He was also a great clock repairman and “Jack of all trades”.

He is survived by his sister Theresa and her husband Harold Smith; and cousins Randy and Leo keller, Rev. Joseph Carolin, Mary Alice Schwerze and Virginia.
