Frank Pancavage Obituary

Frank “Pinky” Pancavage 94, of MarLin, passed away Monday evening at the Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

  Born in Port Carbon, he was the son of Andrew and Anna Pancavage.

    Frank was educated in the Port Carbon schools. He was a member of St. Matthew the Evangelist Church of Holy Family Parish, Minersville. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a plasterman and cement finisher. and was a member of the MarLin American Legion and the Marlin Fire Co. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia Eagles. He was also a member of the U.S. Military Order of the Cootie, which is the Honor Degree of the VFW. Membership is recognition of outstanding service to the VFW and its programs.  

    In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Michael Pancavage, 3 brothers, Andrew, John and Tony and 2 sisters, Martha and Anna.

     He survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth Bagucansky; a son Frank Pancavage and his companion Cheryl Price, MarLin; 2 daughters Linda, MarLin and Bonnie Phillips and her husband Glen, Pottsville; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer, Kelly, Kacy, Abbey and Eric and 1 great grandchild Lukas; a sister Libby Wikstrom, California; nieces and nephews.

     A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 1PM from the Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St., Minersville. Relatives and friends can call at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10AM until the time of the Service. Interment with Military Honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa.

     The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Frank to either the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas. or to Tunnels to Towers, 2361 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, N.Y. 10306. Contributions will be accepted at the funeral home.
