Frederick J. Swantner

Frederick J. Swantner was born in Pottsville to Julius and Ida Schmidt Swantner..Frederick was a retired tractor trailer driver after 32 years and then worked Part Time as a Bus Driver for the Pottsville School District. He was a 1955 graduate of Pottsville High School. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Minersville where he served as Council President for many years. He was a member of the Seltzeer Gun Club, Masonic Lodge 222, Cressona and President of the "Fun Beyond 50 Club ".

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Josephine in 2019, a son Frederick D. Swantner in 1996 and a grandson Todd Mistysyn.

He is survived by 2 granddaughters, Erin Chiello with whom he lived and Tara Mistysyn; a grandson Thomas Mistysyn; grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be in Zion Lutheran Church on Saturday at 11 AM. Relatives an friends can call at the Church on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of the service..
