Jean M. Kabana, 87, formerly of Minersville, passed away Saturday July 8, 2023 at Green Valley Nursing and Rehab, Pottsville.
Born in Pottsville May 17, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Antoinette (Kulczytski) Plesnarski.
She attended St. Stanislaus Kostka School and was a graduate of Cass High School. Jean went on to work as a seamstress at the dress factory in Primrose; as a child care worker; and later as a secretary at Reading Anthracite, Pottsville.
She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Minersville- St. Matthew Church; the former St. Stanislaus Kostka, Minersville. She was also a member the Polish Club, Reading and ILGWU.
She was preceded in death by her Husband Paul V. Kabana on August 25, 2020; an infant daughter; Brothers John Plesnarski, Joseph Plesnarski, Stanley Plesnarski; Sisters Julia Plesnarski and Mary (Plesnarski) Dronick.
She is survived by her daughter Marcia Cresswell of Schuylkill Haven; Grandchildren Jennifer Jacobson of Hooksett, NH; James M. Cresswell of New York, NY; Nieces and Nephews;
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Monday July 17, 2023 at St. Matthew the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church 139 Spruce St. Minersville, PA 17954. Rev. Jason Stokes will be officiating. Friends may call from 8:00AM-10:00 AM Monday at Donald J. Butler Funeral Home 328 Sunbury St. Minersville, PA 17954.
