Jeffrey Alan McCall

    Jeffrey Alan McCall (Elf), beloved son of Robert McCall Sr., was born on May 2, 1958 in Pottsville. On January 6, 2026, Jeffrey peacefully entered the hands of the Lord, surrounded by his loving family.

    Jeffrey was a proud 1976 graduate of Pottsville High School, where he played football and cultivated a lifelong love for the sport. As the years passed, his passion for football remained strong, with the Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State holding special places in his heart as his favorite teams.

   In his early years, before settling down with is beloved Linda, Jeffrey treasured time spent fishing and hunting at the cabin with friends, often accompanied by his signature “good pot of coffee”. These moments of simple pleasures shaped the foundation of many lasting friendships and joyful memories.

  Jeffrey and Linda shared 28 loving years of marriage, building a life filled with devotion, laughter and mutual support. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, the former Linda Tobias, his stepdaughters Jessica and Sue Ellen, 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  

  Beyond Football, Jeffrey was an avid baseball fan and enthusiastic hunter. He found joy in teaching his grandchildren about hunting, sharing his appreciation for the outdoors and sportsmanship. Eventually, he traded his hunting adventures for peaceful moments watching wildlife from his sunroom, cherishing the beauty and quiet that nature offered.

 Reading was another cherished pastime for Jeffrey. His “man cave” housed a book collection that even Barnes & Noble would be envious. Surrounded by his books, he found relaxation and inspiration, making it a true cornerstone of his life.

 Jeffrey leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion as a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a loving husband to Linda, a dedicated stepfather to Jessica and Sue Ellen, a proud grandfather to 8 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren

 Jeffrey’s warmth, wisdom and sense of humor touched all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and his legacy will continue through the lives he shaped with love and kindness.

  Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St, Minersville on  Thursday from 1 to 2 PM. A Funeral Service will take place at 2 PM at the Funeral Home.
