        Joseph T. “Smitty” Donlin, 91, of Jonestown, Minersville Area, passed away late Thursday evening at his home.

      Born in New Castle, New Castle Township, he was a son of the late Anna Tucci.   

      He was educated in the New Castle schools and was a member St. Clair American Legion Post 719. He was a member of the former St. Vincent De Paul Church, Minersville and a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Minersville. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He retired from the former Exxon plant, MarLin, where he was a machine operator and had perfect attendance for 24 years. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.    

     In addition to his mother he was preceded in death in 2012 by his wife Frances and 2 brothers, Bruno Tucci and Robert Donlin.     

 He is survived by a son Tim and his wife Pat, Jonestown; 3 daughters, Colleen Litwack and her husband Bruce, Gordon, Jody Hafer and her husband Rick, Pine Grove and Jill Slish and her husband Edward, Forestville; 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren

   Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday morning from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St., Minersville.  Mass of Christin Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM in St. Michael the Archangel Church, 539 Sunbury St., Minersville. Rev. Christopher Zelonis will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in St. Vincent’s #2 Cemetery, Minersville.
