Obituary
Paul C. Filiac, 71, of Pottsville passed away Sunday August 13, 2023 at his home.
Born in Pottsville September 13, 1951, He was the son of the late Louis and Anna (Prasich) Filiac.
He was a 1969 graduate of Pottsville Area High School.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and father-in-law.
Paul was the love of a lifetime to
Mary Ann. They started their journey over 50 years ago….sharing hopes and dreams, spending time raising a family, volunteering and attending church together.
Family was very important to Paul and they were blessed to spend vacations at the beach every year with Paula, Mike and Emily. Paul was devoted to Mary Ann and they worked as a team building their life around each other. He especially loved spending time with his granddaughter Emily. Paul was the center of Mary Ann’s world and will be missed immensely until they meet again.
He was formerly employed by Bake Shop IV in Pottsville.
Paul was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and a former parishioner of Mary Queen of Peace R.C.C, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister for over 35 years and was President of the Mary Queen of Peace Holy Name Society.
Surviving is his wife of 48 years Mary Ann (Cicero) Filiac; a daughter Paula Lorence and her husband Michael of Cumbola; Granddaughter Emily Lorence.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 Am Monday August 21, 2023 at St. John the Baptist R.C.C. 913 Mahantongo St. Pottsville, PA 17901 with Rev. Kevin Bobbin officiating and Monsignor William Glosser concelebrating. Friends may call from 9:00 -11:00 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made the the St. John the Baptist Memorial fund at the above address. Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, Minersville is in charge of arrangements.
