Paul G. Kennedy

Paul G. Kennedy, 63, of Deer Lake, was reunited with the love of his life on Friday, October 1^st.    

Born in Pottsville, Paul was the son of Rose (DiSarro) Kennedy and the late Thomas Kennedy of Minersville.  He attended St. Vincent DePaul Elementary School. Paul was involved in youth sports and won the coveted title of CYO basketball MVP in the 8^th grade. Paul was a 1976 graduate of Minersville High school and married his high school sweetheart, Denise Moran, in 1979.  

Paul worked for 30 years in the insurance industry.  He was a lifetime member of Deer Lake and West Brunswick Fire Company and volunteered with Auburn Ambulance where he was also a lifetime member.  Paul was a volunteer coach for Deer Lake Little League and dedicated many years to the Schuylkill County Fair Association. He previously served as an EMT, board member, and president of Orwigsburg Ambulance.  He was a certified MSHA and First Aid/CPR instructor. He served the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire for 26 seasons as an EMT and security officer.  He was currently employed by Signal 88 Security of Lehigh Valley and Premier Atlantic Safety and Training Solutions.  He was a devoted fan of Disney, NASCAR, and John Wayne movies. He spent his free time fishing, traveling, and visiting fairs and festivals.   

Paul was preceded in death by his father and his wife Denise.  As he routinely said, “whatever she wanted, she got it.”  It is a certainty that what she wanted was to be first in line to the opening of Disney’s 50^th Anniversary celebration, and there was no way she was going without him.  Undoubtedly, they have the best seats in the house.  

Paul is survived by his mother, sons Paul (Rebecca) and Tyler, sister Geralyn (Joseph Griffin), grandchildren Bryce and Kollins, many nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles, cousins, and in-laws, and Denise’s dog Beau Duke.  

    Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday in St. Michael the Archangel Church of Holy Family Parish, 539 Sunbury St., Minersville. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 9 PM and on Friday morning from 7 to 10:30 AM at the Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St., Minersville  Interment will be in St. Barbara’s Cemetery, Llewellyn.

     In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions to the Denise Louise Kennedy Memorial Foundation, c/o 328 Sunbury St., Minersville, Pa. 17954.
