Richard J. Gerber, 94, passed away March 17 at the Gardens at York Terrace Nursing Home where he resided.
Born on November 29, 1931, he was the son of the late George E. and Anna (Brown) Gerber.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Morgan) Gerber; also 3 brothers, Louis Gerber, Robert Gerber and Clarence Gerber; 2 sisters, Marie Gerber and Erma Beuchler and a daughter Diane Forster, Orwigsburg, who passed away in July 2025.
Surviving are 2 sons, Allan Gerber, Williamsport, and Richard Gerber and his wife Tammy Gerber, Phoenix Park; 4 daughters, Faye Schnoke, Schuylkill Haven, Judy Gerber and her partner Pete Zimmerman, Linda Gerber, Pottsville and Beverly Hennet and her husband Scott Hennet, Florida; 2 brothers, Joseph Gerber, Sellersville, Pa. and Carl Berger, Cressona. Richard also had 20 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be Tuesday at 11 AM in the Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St., Minersville. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday Monday morning from 9 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in St. John’s Union Cemetery, Freidensburg..
