Robert Edwin  Mullhall Sr., 76 of Greenbury, passed away late Sunday evening at the Schuylkill Center, Pottsville. .   

      He was born in Pottsville and lived in Greenbury all of his life. He was a son of the late John and Grace Hoppes Mulhall. . 

      He attended St. Kieran’s Grade school, Hechersville and was a 1958 Graduate of the former Cass Twp. High School. He attended classes on Township Government at Penn State University. He was a member of the former St. Kieran’s Church and was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Minersville. He retired from Exxon Chemical Co., MarLin, where he worked as a manufacturing supervisor.   

       He coordinated, planned and worked on the Castle Green Grotto and Celtic Cross Monument in Greenbury and was primarily responsible for having the rosary recited at the site every Sunday evening.   

       Bob was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, John F. Kennedy Divison No. 2, Pottsville and was their “Irishman of the Year” in 2004. He served as the Financial Secretary of the Schuylkill County Board of the A.O.H. He served as a Supervisor in New Castle Twp., and had coached Little League Baseball for the Minersville American Legion Team in the West Scat League.    

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother John and a sister Catherine Lysek.

     He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Anne Seaman Mulhall; 4 children, Robert Edwin Jr. and his wife Theresa, Shenandoah, Shawn Patrick and his wife Lorrie, Coal Castle, Kelly Anne Kline and her husband Jeff, Llewellyn and Kathleen Mary Sponenburg , at home; 6 grandchildren, Stephanie, Kevin, Justin, Kirstee, Kaylin and Stephen; 4 great-grandchildren, Natalie, Kamryn, Allison and Annastasia; sisters, Joyce Panak, Peggy Anne Bassininski and Diane Nash; nieces, nephews and cousins.. 

     Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 PM and on Thursday morning from 7AM to 10 AM at the Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St., Minersville.  Mass of Christina Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM in St. Michael the Archangel Church, 539 Sunbury St., Minersville. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Hillside. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer remembrances of Bob in the form of contributions to the Castle Green Grotto c/o Margaret Curran, 105 Greenbury Rd., Pottsville, Pa. 17901
