Robert D. Rumberger

        Robert D. Rumberger SR., 79 of Tremont passed away late Tuesday evening at the Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

      Born in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Clarence and Carrie Miller Rumberger.  

      He was educated in the Porter Tower schools and also attended the Williamson Trade School in Media, Pa. He was retired from the former Detroiter Plant and the Tamaqua Cable Co.  He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Minersville. He was a lifetime  member of the Rainbow Hose Co., Schuylkill Haven and was active in the Boy and Cub Scouts. He was an Army veteran.

      In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Charles and Clarence Jr.    

  He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret Kostishak to whom he was married for 55 years; 3 sons, Robert Jr., Freidensberg, Richard Sr. and his fiancee Amber Fink, Pottsville, and Gary and his wife Stacy Jo, Cass Twp; 3 daughters, Margaret Gradwell and her husband Joseph, Schuylkill Haven, Carrie Lee Brown and her husband Steve, Schuylkill Haven and Patricia Burns and her husband Vaughn, Cressona; 21 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Office of Christian Burial with Devine Liturgy will be held at St. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Minersville at 10AM Saturday with the Very Rev. Fr. Francis Twardzik, SDB officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

 Relatives and friends can call at the Donald J. Butler Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM and on Saturday morning  from 7AM  to 9:30AM with Panahida on Saturday morning.
