Rose Marie Skibiel, 86, of Minersville, passed away Friday afternoon at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
Born in Minersville she was a daughter of Alexander and Josephine Wentz Sumoski.
She was a 1953 graduate of Minersville High School. She was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Minersville and a member of Holy Family Parish, Minersville. She was a Bell Telephone Operator and also worked in the local garment industry. Rose Marie enjoyed crocheting and was an avid reader.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph a brother Leonard Sumoski and an infant sister.
She is survived by a son Joseph Skibiel and his wife Patricia, Brier City; 2 daughters, Rose Ann Skibiel, Harrisburg and Theresa Miller and her husband David, North Carolina; 7 grandchildren, Michael, Shawn and Joshua Neidlinger, Joseph Skibiel, Lori Ann Burkert and William and Rebecca Miller; 6 great grandchildren, Alexander, Blaine and Evan Neidlinger, Alexandra Skibiel, and Daniel and Anna Burkert ; nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Matthew the Evangelist Church of Holy Family Parish, 139 Spruce St., Minersville at 10 AM Friday . Relatives and friends may call at the Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St., Minersville on Friday morning from 8AM to 9:30 AM. Internment will be in St. Stanislaus #2Cemetery, Minersville.
