Teresa E. Witman

Teresa E. Witman, 90, of Branchdale, passed away Thursday morning at home with family.

 Born in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Mary Daggett Carroll. 

 Teresa was a retired garment worker. She was a member of the former St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Branchdale and was a member of St Matthew’s Church of Holy family parish, Minersville. She was a graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School. She was a member of the Branchdale Ladies Booster Club, the Branchdale Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union (ILGWU)     

  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Birch K. Witman; a son Gary and a daughter Lynn; 10 brothers and sisters, Margaret Kadel, Sister Mary Emma, Martin Carroll, Anna Sukeena, Elizabeth Philbin, Eileen Moore, Leona Donlen, Dolores Garrett, Lewis Carroll Jr. and Dorothy Purcell.  

 She is survived by 4 sons, Dennis Witman and his wife Carol, Mechanicsburg, Craig Witman and his wife Bonnie, Branchdale, Keith Witman and his wife Pam, Lake Wynonah and Kevin Witman and his wife Theresa, Avoca; a sister Rita Larkin, Branchdale; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, including beloved niece, Roseanne Maley

  Funeral services are private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in St. Mary Star of the Sea Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, Minersville.
